The Find It At New Paltz system helps you locate an article. Find out whether the article is online, in our paper collection, or should be ordered through our ILLIAD system.
If you're an online learner, or if you study at one of our many extension sites, you can order articles and other materials through our Interlibrary Loan system, called ILLIAD.
This includes materials from our in-library collection, as well as materials we don't own and borrow from other libraries on your behalf. It's easy: just fill out an online ILLiad request form.

What kinds of materials does the library deliver to its Distance Learners?
Are there materials that the library doesn't send to its Distance Learners?
Distance Learners who need books or other media may check the catalogs of local libraries to discover whether those materials are at those locations, or whether Interlibrary Loan is available at those libraries. Distance Learners are also invited to travel to New Paltz to use its library collection
Where are my materials sent? How do I pick them up?
Many articles and chapters can be delivered electronically to a secure webspace in ILLIAD, or to your email. You select how you will be notified when the item is available, and how you'll access it, when you register for ILLIAD the first time you log in.
To see your received items, or to check the status of a request, just log into ILLIAD and use the menu.
Do I have to fill out a request form in any special way?
In order to speed your requests :
1. When you first fill out an ILLiad Registration Form, select "Distance Ed." from the pull-down "Status" menu.
2. When you fill out a book or journal request form, type "I am a distance learner" in the Notes field, and tell us what online or extension class you are attending.
