To borrow materials you must have a valid New Paltz ID-card. Present this card and the items you wish to borrow at the Check-Out Desk on the Main floor of the library. You are responsible for all materials borrowed on your card. Promptly report lost ID-cards at the Check-Out Desk.
It is your responsibility to return books and other materials when due. Due dates are on the receipt you receive when borrowing items.
If you wish to renew the items you have checked out, you have three options. You may renew your items online, or in person at the Sojourn Truth Library.
To access many of the library's resources, including online databases which contain journals, magazines, and newspaper articles, you will need the following:
Your user name and password are the same ones that you use to access campus e-mail. They provided to new students in their orientation packets. It is also located on your student ID card.
Username: Your BannerID or NPCUID is also located on your student ID card.
Password: Your default password is the lower case character "s" followed by the last six digits of your social security number.

The Sojourner Truth Library uses the Library of Congress Classification System for the call numbers it assigns to most of the items in its collections.
