Confirm definitions and get background information in the following:

Use Reference Universe to search indexes and article titles from the STL Reference collection.

1. Go to the Reference Universe database.
2. Enter your topic (e.g., immigration) into the search box and specify the most useful search field (e.g., Keyword or Title or Subject).
3. Select an item from the results that appears to offer a useful overview or summary related to the topic.
4. Note the STL location and Call Number.
5. Go to that location in the library and find your item
6. Evaluate the usefulness of the item to your research needs.
