Law Reviews (Law journals) are academic journals of the legal community.  They are a great way to discover how legal issues are percieved by the profession.  Use them to find

• Reviews, summaries and "bibliographies" of key cases, and more recent ones
• what terms the legal community uses to identify legal matters (e.g., "Search and Seizure")
• comparisons between decisions
• commentary about pending cases and legislation

How do I get to the Law Reviews??

• The LEGAL section of LEXIS NEXIS includes a large number of law reviews .  Do a search like

(searches and students and seizure and "fourth amendment" and "public school" and privacy)

• Search journals one at a time, or discover the ones that concentrate on educational issues.  Use our Journal Finder

Do a keyword search on "education and law" or "schools and law" or "religion and school" to discover legal texts and education books and documents in our collection

TIP: be sure to get the CALL NUMBER for the book and browse that section of the library.  WHY??

1. Our catalog doesn't search every single word of every single book in our library.  Getting to the right section of the library and then browsing by hand lets you discover more that a computer search might reveal alone
2. All of our boosk are in subject order by call number.  So once you find the right section, it's easy to browse
