About the Textbook Collection

Paying for college on a tight budget is challenging, and the hefty cost of textbooks is always a major concern. The Textbook Collection was founded to help alleviate the financial burden of purchasing textbooks so that our students can focus on accomplishing their academic goals.

The program depends solely on donations of unwanted but usable textbooks from faculty, staff, and students.  These textbooks are then put on reserve as permanent resources for courses offered by SUNY New Paltz.

Since its founding, the program has collected over 100 textbooks and workbooks.  However, we are currently in the process of re-vamping the program, and we are searching for valuable donations to the collection.

How to Donate

If you have old textbooks, consider contributing them to the cause!
All you need to do is bring the books to the checkout counter and fill out a short informational form.  We use this information to classify the books in our catalog so that students can easily search for and find them.

All donations are eligible for tax deduction when you fill out the form below.

Donations Other Than Textbooks

Whether it's unwanted textbooks or leisure books, donating to the library is an amazing way to contribute.

Unwanted books that are not course texts can be donated to the Friends of Library's (FOL) book sale.  You can e-mail Bill at hennessw@newpaltz.edu for more information on how to donate to FOL.

All proceeds help fund the library's databases and acquisition fund, and all donations are eligible for tax deduction.
