Permalinks: how to link directly to library catalog records, ebooks, articles, databases and streaming videos

Creating Persistent Links to Articles in Nexis Uni Database: scroll down for 3 examples

  1. Locate the item in Nexis Uni and click on the item.
  2. Click "Export Citation"
  3. A Format Preview box will pop up that includes a Permalink.
  4. Copy the Permalink URL, but do not copy the title that appears directly before the URL, and do not copy the period that ends the URL. It is best to copy and paste the contents of the Format Preview box into a word document, then delete the title that appears before the URL and the period that ends the URL. Then you are ready to paste the Permalink.

Example I: Click Export Citation

Example 2: Copy and Paste the contents of the Format Preview Box into a word document.

Example 3: Delete the title and the period following the title, and the final period following the URL. Only the URL should remain. This URL is the Permalink. This Permalink includes the STL Proxy information. It is not necessary to attach the STL Proxy URL to the beginning of the Permalink for items in Nexis Uni.

Delete: How I became an Electric-Car Designer, and delete the final period following the end of the URL.
