SUNY Resource Sharing

Librarians recommend using SUNY Resource Sharing to request print books from other SUNY libraries, before placing an ILL request. SUNY Resource Sharing allows you to borrow materials from other SUNY Libraries, for free. Not only does this service give you access to millions of books and articles--requested materials will typically arrive more quickly than when you use Interlibrary Loan.

Interlibrary Loan can be used to request print books, book chapters, and PDF articles from libraries worldwide.

Students, faculty and staff are invited to place a book purchase request, to purchase books for the STL collection.

SUNY Resource Sharing FAQ
SUNY Resource Sharing is a service that allows you to borrow materials from other SUNY Libraries. SUNY Catalog is where you can search for books held by other SUNY Libraries, and then place a Resource Sharing request. It is useful for requesting titles we do not have or requesting books in our collection that are currently unavailable.

Using Advanced Search, select SUNY Catalog to include books from other SUNY libraries.

Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

Interlibrary Loan is a service provided to current SUNY New Paltz faculty (including emeriti), registered students, and staff to obtain items not available in the Sojourner Truth Library. Registered users can request items not owned by the Sojourner Truth Library, as well as books that are currently checked out or missing.

Book Purchase Request

SUNY New Paltz students, faculty, and staff can submit a request for the Library to purchase a book for the STL collection. Both print books and ebooks may be requested.
