New EBSCO Interface

New Interface for EBSCO Databases

On December 19, the library will transition to the new EBSCO user interface (UI). All EBSCOhost databases—including PsycInfo, SocINDEX, Academic Search Complete, ebooks hosted on EBSCO, and others—have a new UI. This means a new look and a few minor changes to functions. Many things are in a different place than you might be used to. This page overviews those changes and provides links to further documentation from EBSCO.

  • The new interface has a modern, user-friendly layout that supports accessibility and follows the principle of responsive design to facilitate use across all devices.
  • Permalinks can now be bookmarked directly from the browser address.
  • Additional improvements include text-to-speech and filters that remain applied when a search query is modified.
  • EBSCO will continue to develop the new interface. Search and journal alerts, custom folders, and custom limiters are just a few of the latest features, with more on the way.

The new UI will include a link to "classic" EBSCO for users who want to continue using the old interface and access their folders.

Folders

If you are a MyEBSCO folder user, only your main folder will transition to the new UI. Any subfolders you create will not transfer at this time. Your main folder will be under Projects in the new UI. The new UI includes a link labeled "Link to EBSCOhost Classic." This link will direct you back to the classic version of EBSCO, where you can access all your folders and subfolders.  EBSCO plans to resolve the subfolder issue in 2025: https://roadmap.ebsco.com/?_search=sub-folder
