Zine Distributors (Distros)

Zine distros are small distribution organizations (sometimes just a zinester who wants to help others get their zines out there). You can usually buy zines from them online for between $1-$10 each. Timeliness varies from distro to distro - some are small operations which means you can easily get in touch with them but they may need a bit of lead time to get you your zines!

Pioneers Press
Located in Kansas, they provide some great zines across a variety of topics - political, personal, literary, and DIY how-tos among them.
Brows Recluse Zine Distro
Out of Seattle, Brown Recluse Zine Distro was created to support and center zines written predominantly by POC folks of all identities. This project was born out of passion for zines and frustration at the lack of representation and meaningful zine material for People of Color.
Doris Distro
Out of Athens, Ohio, this distro is run by Cindy Crabb of the zine Doris. Great selection of personal and political zines,
Microcosm
A slightly more press-like distro, they have some zines that are zine-y and others that really verge on published material.
Stranger Danger Distro
Stranger Danger is a zine distro based out of Chicago that carries feminist zines, queer zines, trans zines, POC zines, & more — zines about identity, home, disabilities, friendship, survival, etc etc.
Team Zine on Etsy
Brings together zinesters who sell their work on Etsy

Zine Fests and Special Events

Zine fests are gatherings of many zine creators and distributors. They're a great place to buy zines but also to connect with folks, attend workshops, and share information about your library.

NYC Feminist Zine Fest
Showcases the work of artists and zinesters who identify as feminists, and whose politics are reflected in their work. Has happened annually in the winter.
Brooklyn Zine Fest
The big event has historically been held in the Spring at the Brooklyn Historical Society. Other events in between!
Pioneer Valley Zine Fest
This fest is in Western Mass, in the Amherst Northampton area. In the past it's been held annually in the Spring.

Next upcoming zine fest is in July of 2016!
