Diversity and Multiculturalism in Children's Literature

Intended for those in Special Education and other education disciplines, this LibGuide is a resource for finding information on various aspects of diversity whether racial, physical, emotional, cultural, or other.

Juvenile Literature Collection

Our Juvenile Literature Section is located on the second level of the library (the Concourse level). Exit the stairway through the door to the left and the collection will be on the other side of the media section, near the door on the opposite wall.

The books are arranged by Library of Congress Classification number.  Non-fiction can be browsed by LC call numbers. Juvenile fiction begins with the call number PZ.

How To Use the Catalog for Juvenile Books

Accessing the catalog is easy! On the library homepage, hover your mouse over "Catalogs", then click the entry "New Paltz Catalog". It is recommended for this subject to go to "Advanced Search", where you can limit the results by Collection/Location. Type in your topical term, then once you get your search results, on the left side of the screen, limit according to Collection/Location. Check both Juvenile Collection and Juvenile Young Adult Collection, then click "Apply filters."
