Who's Citing Me? Searching for Cited References

This guide is designed to gather all the tools and resources available to New Paltz faculty when searching for cited references or citation counts for their publications. Useful when preparing for promotion and tenure.

Cited Reference Search in SciFinder

SciFinder Scholar provides online access to the Chemical Abstracts Service literature. Coverage includes chemistry, chemical engineering, biochemistry, geochemistry, agricultural chemistry, biomedical and medicinal chemistry, biotechnology, materials science, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, pharmacology, toxicology, environmental science and hazardous waste management.

Cited reference search in SciFinder will show you what works cite a particular work and how many times.  You can see the number of times a paper has been cited in the database by the numbers to the right.  Click on Get Citing to see the citing articles.

 

 

Authors' names can vary when recorded and cited.  Searching in SciFinder with an author's last name will show you the forms of the name that show up in this particular database.  Then you can choose the names that you want to search.
